I work with students, parents, and teachers by facilitating conferences, helping to plan schedules, giving curriculum and scholarship guidance, and addressing personal and social needs. Heber Springs Folklore Society Music Scholarship-Deadline to turn materials into Mr. Tarver is March 31, 2020-Must have a minimum GPA of 2.80, must live in Cleburne Co. or the surrounding Counties, and must enter or attend college. The two awards are for $1000. Paper applications are available in Mr. Tarver's outer office.
OPTIMIST CLUB ORATORICAL CONTEST-It is time for students to participate in the annual Optimist Oratorical Contest. The contest is open to area boys and girls who will be under 18 on October 1, 2018. Completed entry forms, found in Mr. Tarver's outer office, must be received no later than March 21, 2020. The local first-place winners will also be advanced to the Zone contest. Zone winners will be advance to the District contest to be held Saturday April 23rd at the Central Baptist College in Conway where they will compete for a $2500 Scholarship. District winners will advance to the Regional Contest where they will compete for a $5000 scholarship.Regional winners will advance to the Internatioal Contest where they will compete for a $10,000 Scholarship.
First Electric Trust Scholarship Program-Deadline is due before or on April 1, 2020. Five $2000 scholarships to be awarded to seniors whose parents or guardians are members of First Electric Cooperative. Must have a GPA of 3.0 or higher on the 4.0 scale through the first semester of their senior year. Baptist Health Medical Center Auxiliary Scholarship-Awarded to seniors in our area that will pursue a course of study in nursing or health related profession. Financial need will be considered. Deadline is April 1, 2020. Paper applications are available in Mr. Tarver's outer office.
R. Preston Woodruff, Jr. Scholarship- The Arkansas Student Loan Authority awards a minimum of twenty $1,000 scholarships each year to seniors and current college students in Arkansas. Deadline is April 1, 2020. Each year, one of the scholarships drawn will be renewable for up to four years. Cleburne Co. Rotary Club Scholarship-Deadline is April 17, 2020-Awarded to 8 students in Cleburne Co. in the amount of $1250.00. Paper applications are available in Mr. Tarver's outer office. Students should answer all questions, even if it's answered by N/A.
Society of American Military Engineers-Deadline is the application must be received no later than April 7, 2020. Must major in Architecture or construction-related engineering programs (e.g. civil, structural, electrical, mechanical, geotechnical, environmental, etc.). Paper copies of the application are available in Mr. Tarver's outer office.
Ernest Whitelaw-Don Kinney American Indian Scholarship-In order to be eligible for this scholarship program, applicants must be of documentable Native American descent from a federally recognized tribe. The documentation required is a CDIB (Certificate of Degree of Indian Blood) card or tribal enrollment documentation from a federally recognized tribe. A copy must be furnished with the application. Students/Parents may call 1-800-441-4513 for further details. Deadline is April 15, 2020. Paper copies are in Mr. Tarver's outer office.
Felts B. Rector Scholarship-Applicants need only to apply and meet 3 eligibility requirements: 1. Be a graduating senior from a Cleburne County High School, 2. Have a GPA of at least 2.75 on a 4.0 scale, and 3. Plan to attend a four year Arkansas college. Deadline is April 14, 2020. Paper applications are in Mr. Tarver's outer office.
Batesville Optimist Club Scholarship-Each year Batesville Optimist club awards two $250 scholarships to area High School Seniors. Applications can be found in Mr. Tarver's outer office. Along with the application each student must also return a copy of their current transcript and an essay telling them more about themselves. The primary criteria they use in awarding the scholarships is the Optimist Creed. They try and assess the involvement of the students in their school, church and community. Deadline is April 19, 2020.
Safe Arkansas Scholarship and Video Contest-Deadline is April 24, 2020.

Kristen Martin Memorial Scholarship-Criteria: 1. Be a senior at Concord High School. 2. Need financial assistance for the pursuit of his/her continued education. 3. Just as a reminder, Seniors should begin working on their FAFSA applications starting Oct 1. Students/Parents can go to https://studentaid.gov/h/apply-for-aid/fafsa to fill out this application and it will require entering tax information. If a students wishes to receive any type of federal/state aid (whether scholarships, grants or loans), students/parents will have to fill out the FAFSA.
